DECEMBER 20th & 21st 2009: FIRST MUMBAI EXHIBITION-report by Aashta Dave from Mumbai

The exhibition I held in my house was great fun. After my marriage I am unable to go every weekend to Magod. I thought an exhibition would be a great opportunity to be still involved with Shantihastkala by selling some products in Mumbai. When I first thought of exhibiting SHK items I spoke to Chideshwari. We became very excited with the idea and immediately started planning the event.

I live in a big apartment complex comprising of 392 flats. With the assistance of my work colleges I made some invitations for the exhibition. I personally visited 350 flats, explained to the residents about SHK and invited them to the exhibition. Ravish’s uncle had given me 500 SHK brochures which I also distributed.

I was a little tense. I was worried that people might not come. I prayed to Baba and Gurudev. I thought when the forms of the Shakti are with me, why should I worry. Having faith, I gave the order to Nita aunty.

The exhibition was a very nice experience for me and I met so many people. Some invited me into their houses and offered cold drinks. Others were hesitant to open their doors. I also distributed brochures on the trains and gave them to friends. I had funnnnnnnnnn!

We placed an order to hire some clothing racks and stands. Two days before the exhibition I went to pick them up. It was like a big test from Baba. I could not find a taxi. I called my aunty and she dropped me half way home in her car. I could then hail a taxi. Next, the traffic police caught the taxi driver for breaking a traffic signal. So with many of difficulties and obstacles, I reached home with racks and stands in hand.

Next day Chirag (my husband) helped me set up the stands and I thank him for his great support. Devanshi, Hiral and Nidhi came the day before the exhibition to decorate. It was looking fantastic. We had great fun decorating it!

On the day of the exhibition we decorated with flowers and diyas. My mother made delicious food for all of us. I want to give special thanks to my mother.  Adveta used the intercom to speak to the occupants of 392 flats to remind them of the exhibition. On Saturday not so many people came, but who ever did attend appreciated the products. On Saturday night I prayed to Baba for a better response on Sunday. Lord is great! The response on Sunday was wonderful! It was a great experience for all involved.

I want to thank everyone involved who made the exhibition such a success including Chirag, Bhavna (my mother), Nidhi, Jollyfui, Devanshi, Hiral, Advaita, Mini aunty, Ravish uncle, Nita aunty and Ganesh.

I want to be a part of Shantihastkala till my last breath and I am sure that Baba will bestow his blessings on me and will give me strength to perform my seva.
