Diwali: This year the Diwali orders were double of last year

We made paper Mache plates and decorated the divas in that, put all this in a brocade and tissue pouch for presentation, it was loved by everyone. The plates were made by news paper pulp, which was taught to Seema a girl from the village and she then taught a group of people who then made it, these plates were then painted and then Warli design was done on it by some people who are good at painting the best that we have are Bipin and Sonal from village Hariya. The divas were painted by, many villagers who have now been doing it for the last 4 yrs and are now doing a good job.

November: Vanya of Cullen Wines from western Australia visited our ashram in May 2008 and saw the work that we were doing with the villagers, she decided to help SHK in selling stuff for us. She organized an Indian food festival in her restaurant and ordered Shanti Hastakala stuff that she sold in the festival. She has been a big support to SHK and has helped us go to the next stage. Mark and Kailas were her big help. Mark is a lawyer and has now been appointed as a lawyer for SHK in Australia. The sale in Vanya’s restaurant has attracted an distributor who is interested in distributing SHK gears in Australia, this is great news for us.

December: Sadhana and Keval from Adelaide of Shantarasa Yoga center from Australia who also visited Magod in May 2008 and saw the great work that SHK is doing with the villagers ,decided to help by selling the products made my SHK. Immediately after finishing Vanya’s order we had to get on to making stuff for Sadhana and sending it to her before Christmas. She has been selling the products very well and has orders for more. So now we have been making things for her on a regular basis.

The second exhibiton we had on 19th of dec ,which Aastha organized in her residence in Mumbai, she invited friends and put up a great show. This is the first exhibition that we had in Mumbai.
