Ramilaben

Ramila ben and family stay at the village Bhagod.

Ramila ben and her daughters have been associated with SHK for 3 1/2 years. Her daughters Falguni,Tejal do embroidery work and Tanvi does stitching. Ramila ben also does stitching for us. They make small pouches and bags.

Ramila ben got to know about SHK from Guru sisters. When she went for satsang she got to know that SHK was doing these activities and so came to the ashram to meet us and ask for work.

They started with rectangular bags. They were not so good in their work initially but with time and practice they have improved. Neeta would go and teach them cutting and how to stitch. They had a machine with them but did not do any stitching as no one gave them work. They are very happy now because they are getting work on a regular basis and also shk pays them for the work done on a regular basis, so sitting at home they are able to do their house work and make an income.

Geeta ben is from village Hariya

She came to shanti Mandir ashram when all the villagers came to visit the ashram during Bhagwat sapta and liked the ashram and satsang. She started working with shk around 3 yrs back . She knew stitching and embroidery before she started working with SHK .

She started with making single pouches ,bags then she went on to skirts and blouses , she does very good work.

Her in- laws and husband are happy that she works for shk.

She stitches for other people also but has no guarantee of when she will be paid but with shk she has no problem as she knows she will be paid as soon as she finishes work.

Trupti

Trupti is a student in Shk stitching class for the last 4 months, She has graduated as bachelar in arts(BA).

She has finished her collage studies and got married and got caught in her married life. She has a son who is 7 years of age. She has a dream that she wants to educate her son in the best possible way and to fulfill her that dream she realised that she will need to work and make money. Her husband makes about 5000 rupees per month which is not enough for running a house and educating her son.

And then she came to know about SHK and decided that she will train herself first and then work for SHK and make an income so she has joined our classes. Nita ,our teacher in SHK is happy with her work and feels that she will be ready to start stitching few things within the next 1 month. Trupti wants to make atleast 5000 rupees per month, she knows that she will not achieve her target immediately so has set one and a half year to reach that target. She is in no hurry and wants to take her time and become very good in stitching so that after the set learning time period there is no looking back.

Bhana bhai is an elderly man of age 65, he resides in a village called Motha Surwadha. He has been stitching since he was a little boy. He worked all his life as an employee. Just 8 years back he set up his own workshop in his village.

He got to know from his daughter about SHK as she works for us. He had very little work and was finding difficult in making ends meet. His daughter asked SHK if we could give him work. SHK team was more then willing as the main aim of SHK is to give work to all the needy and willing people.
